Dear Friends of Festival Opera,

It’s with great sadness that we must postpone our recital by Carrie Hennessey and Jennifer Reason scheduled for March 22, 2020 at the Piedmont Center for the Arts. At this time of precautionary health measures it is imperative that our artists and patrons are kept as safe as possible from the threat of COVID-19. In place of this event date, our artists have agreed to present their highly-anticipated program “And Yet She Persisted – Women in Classical Music” on October 18, 2020 at 5:00 PM. My heartfelt thanks goes to them, and to the Piedmont Center for the Arts, for offering solutions and flexibility in a time of great public upheaval.

I hope that the effects of this virus and it’s fallout are swiftly mitigated, and that we are able to come through this in solidarity and strength. Nothing can compare to our art form being experienced firsthand, by a house full of energy and enthusiasm. It is my highest goal that the community, sympathy, and warmth we provide with our artistic offerings will continue as a source of inspiration and fulfillment for many years to come.

Patrons who have purchased tickets to this event will have the option of a refund of the ticket price, or replacement tickets for the new date.
My gratitude to you all for bearing with us in this time of uncertainty.

Always,
ZACHARY GORDIN
ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
